Program Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports a 28 percent increase in drug poisoning deaths nationwide from October 2019 to October 2020. North Carolina’s drug poisoning deaths were up 15 percent over the same period.
This free program will convey ways in which North Carolina attorneys can deploy their professional skills to help prevent substance misuse and drug poisonings, and save lives.

Course Objectives
- Identify legal issues that can be addressed across various legal practice areas to help reduce substance misuse and save lives;

- Discover resources to expand knowledge of substance misuse prevention, intervention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery support policies and programs.
