Biased attitudes about opioid use disorder, prejudice against MAT & insurance barriers are blocking access to quality opioid treatment. Persons with opioid use disorder report having difficulty obtaining health insurance coverage for treatment, or finding physicians willing or able to prescribe MAT, which is widely seen as the most effective treatment method for opioid use disorder.
