The National Recovery Friendly Workplace Institute has created a national Recovery Friendly Workplace certification program for employers. The Recovery Friendly Workplace definition and national certification standards were developed in consultation with a diverse group of experienced stakeholders, including representatives from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and numerous other governmental, commercial, and not-for-profit organizations. Michael C. Barnes, Esq., Chairman of the Center for U.S. Policy, contributed to the research, writing, and editing of the certification document and discussed the new program during a May 2024 webinar.
